A distress call from a secret base in Antarctica makes the military send troops to rescue.
Once there, the troops find the base is contaminated by a virus this is mutating everything thing it infects. (Does this sound a little like Resident Evil to you?)
You must find the survivors and escape the base before you too get infected.
While the story is a ripoff of Resident Evil, the gameplay is more like Syphon Filter.
Don’t expect to many puzzles, its mostly run, jump, climb, shoot and pick up items.
You’ll have one weapon though out the game, (a machine gun) but you find upgrades to add to your weapon. Shotgun, Flamethrower and Sniper scope to name a few.
There’s also a battery pack that is needed to do many tasks, save the game, open doors or use machines. You’ll have to recharge it every time you find a recharger or you’ll hunt for one when you need your many units of energy from your battery.
The mutants are bland compared to other survival horrors. There’s small mutant cockroaches, bird creatures, tyrant wannabe’s and large rhino mutants to name a few.
The graphics are good but could use some touch ups, the game is all voice acted and its some of the worst you’ll ever hear in a game.
This game makes the original Resident Evil look like Shakespear.
Your character can also get infected by the virus. If your attacked and get infected, your health max will go down.
But the antidote you need to cure your self is far and few between.
Overall Extermination is playable, but it has little replay value.
